How do I update my policy with details of my new car?
You don’t have to cancel your current car insurance policy if you get a new car. You can simply modify your old policy. When you update your car details online, you might need to pay for a higher premium or you might get a refund if the new premium is lower.
Step 1: Log in to myRAC
Log in to myRAC. If you don’t already have a myRAC account, you’ll need to register first.
Step 2: Select ‘Manage your policy’
Find your policy. Select Manage. Then select Manage your policy.
Step 3: Go to ‘Change my car details’
Choose the motor policy you wish to update then select Change my car details.
Step 4: Change selected car
Select the link called Change selected car.
Step 5: Find your car
Enter your car’s registration number and select Find. If you don’t know your registration number, fill in the make, model and other details. Then select Continue. You’ll then be presented with any changes to your premium and asked for payment details.
