Ant is helping promote EV’s in his community

Ant grew up fascinated by the concept of electric transport and has been a proud electric vehicle (EV) owner for over ten years. “It occurred to me that in order to transport people and freight, we do not have to burn fossil fuels and pollute the atmosphere - there has to be a better way”.

His passion for EV’s saw him become chair of the WA branch of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association. His proudest achievement so far has been crowdfunding for the installation of two remote charging stations at Lake Grace and Ravensthorpe, helping EV users travel to Esperance.

Dave helped host a Car Free day on Albany Highway

Dave wanted to open Albany Highway up to his local community. As luck would have it his local community group, the Vic Park Collective, had the same idea and on Sunday the 18th of September 2016 he helped them deliver their first Car Free Day.

The event saw the Albany Highway closed to cars between Kent and Gloucester Street. In place of cars, Dave and the Collective organised a range of activations and street celebrations to encourage locals to take back the street. Local businesses even got involved, with many reporting that it had a positive impact on trade.

The car free movement aims to empower residents to reclaim their streets and experience life with less cars on our roads.
