This National Road Safety Week, we encourage you to slow down behind the wheel and help save lives on our roads. RAC proudly supports Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH Group) in raising awareness, to work towards a safer WA for all.

National Road Safety Week is an annual initiative to highlight the impact of road trauma in our community and remember the lives lost on our roads. Last year, 188 people died on WA roads. This is more than a number – these are children, parents, siblings, and friends. A chair forever empty at the dinner table.

Increasing your speed — even by just a few kilometres an hour — increases your braking distance and can significantly increase your risk of a crash, serious injury and death.

RAC aims to highlight how even small increases to driving speed can have a huge impact on the outcome. See where we’ll be over the next few weeks to highlight the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it.

Change your speed, change your outcome.

National Road Safety Week is an annual initiative established by the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partnering road safety organisations and Government. The week highlights the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it.

For more than 115 years, RAC has been giving back to WA. We're committed to championing change that will lead to a safer, sustainable and connected future for Western Australians. We want to reduce the rate of people killed and seriously injured on our roads and to do so, our top priorities for a safer WA are safer speeds limits, regional road safety upgrades and safer intersections. National Road Safety Week gives us the opportunity to raise awareness about road safety in WA and help work towards achieving a safer WA for all.
